Thomas Westley Pentz, better known by his stage name Diplo, is an American DJ and a close friend of Poppy's. He founded Mad Decent Records.
Early Life
Diplo was born in Tupelo, Mississippi. He later moved to Miami, Florida where he got his interest in Miami bass. He attended the University of Central Florida, then later moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to continue his studies at Temple University. During his time in Philadelphia, he ran gigs as a DJ and began to gain attention.
Later in his life, he switched from being a DJ to a producer and founded Mad Decent Records, signing people such as Shakira, Bruno Mars, Snoop Dogg, Justin Bieber, Azaleia Banks, Poppy, Iggy Azalea and Ariana Grande.
Relationship With Poppy
