Discography[]
Early beginnings on YouTube (2012-2013)[]
When Poppy started her career she first only published her songs and covers on her YouTube channel and SoundCloud since February 2012, most of these songs had hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube and even getting performed at venues such as VidCon and Playlist Live. However sometime in August 2013 she made private most of her YouTube music videos and deleted her SoundCloud account on September 2013, this decision was made due to her having a signing deal with Island Records for 2014 and moving forward to doing a higher quality music.
Signing with Island Records (2014)[]
On November 2014, even though some videos from the ones she posted since 2012 to 2013 still remained on her YouTube channel, she started a new beginning of her career by doing a mysterious series of videos starting with "Poppy Eats Cotton Candy" in that same month and later released her first song on that channel after privatizing almost all her content, the song being a cover of "Santa Baby".
In January 4th, 2014 she officially signed to Island Records. Since 2014 to 2016 she recorded many songs which were supposed to be released on an album in 2015, however it got delayed and reduced to an extended play (EP). Hypnagogic covers were released at the beginning of 2015, on March 6th, 2015 a cover of Mac DeMarco's "My Kind of Woman" and on March 14th, 2015 a cover of Milky Chance's "Stolen Dance" was released. Between these two songs a cover of The Cardigans' "Lovefool" was released in March 11th, 2015, this cover was released by the producer of it and recorded years before its release. On June 23rd, 2015 the song "Everybody Wants to Be Poppy" alongside a short 3-episode long animated series to promote it, the last episode being the lyric video of the song.

In 2015 Poppy would tease the upcoming release of an unknown album, it appears to be that the album would be shortened to an extended play. On July 24th, 2015 the lead single "Lowlife" would be released, this song would to date Poppy's most streamed song in all streaming platforms and got critical acclaim. This song would be the first track on the EP. On January 14th, 2016 the track "Altar" was performed live before its release at 102.7 Kiis-FM for iHeartRadio. In February 2nd, 2016 the EP would be announced and as the EP got released in February 12th, 2016 it was well-received and got immediate critical acclaim. The single "Lowlife" would be nominated for a Tiger Beat Awards that same year as the song also got radio airtime in BBC and Radio Disney. The songs "Altar" and "Money" received highlight acclaim from part of critics, calling them "retro-bangers".
On May 7th, 2016 Poppy would start the Bubblebath Tour, which lasted 5 dates until July 30th, 2016. This tour served as promotion for the EP.
On June 10th, 2016 a new version of the EP was released to all streaming platforms, the new version contained a different version of the song "Money" due to people confusing Poppy's pronunciation of the word "happiness" with "a penis", as well as shortening the song. On July 29th, 2016, the just mentioned song was released as a promotional single for the EP alongside a music video. After several mismanagements of the record label Island Records, Poppy decides to quit the label in September of that same year.
On April 2018 the music video of "Money" which had amassed more than 14 million views on YouTube was taken down due to a copyright infringement made by a designer who owned one of the drawings used in the video and that he allegedly didn't consent to use. The songs "Money" and "Lowlife" from this EP were the only songs which were performed in next tours made by Poppy.

Poppy's partner at the time, Titanic Sinclair, had worked making ambient music for different projects, as well as he most likely consumed this music. In July 14th, 2015, the first video using ambient genre music as background music was uploaded to Poppy's YouTube channel, this video was the second "Charlotte Interviews Poppy". Since July 15th, 2016 with the video "Lost Slipper" almost every song from this album were used as background music for her videos, this habit terminated a day before the album's release. Ambient songs officially and not officially released from this album were used as interludes for Poppy's Bubblebath Tour, subsequently it was also used in her next two tours as background music during interludes.
The album was announced days before its release, the album was released exclusively to her Bandcamp account to purchase. This album is a 10-track ambient and dark ambient genre album, which could also go into the "New age" category, made by Poppy, Titanic Sinclair and other uncredited persons.
Due to fans' confusion over this album not containing any vocals of Poppy in it, Poppy released a video explaining what her album was about. In the just mentioned video titled "Ambient Music", Poppy talks about her album mentioning that a portion of the proceeds made by the album will go directly to people who suffer from sleep apnea and at the end of the video the recurrent character in Poppy's videos Charlotte says "Poppy please, come back" likely as a reference to her fans being confused about the album's nature. For the making of this album it was sought the help of polysomnographists at the Washington University School of Medicine, they were thanked at the description of the album at Bandcamp.
On September 18th, 2020, a new version of the album featuring a different order of tracklist along with a different mix of the song "Me Time Me" and two completely new songs which replaced the former versions of "Air People" and "Telepathy".
