"Doesn't Mean I'm Wrong", also recognized by its alternate title "Doesn't Have To Mean That I'm Wrong", is an original song by Poppy.

Background

The song was first released as a demo to Poppy's Myspace account on March 1st, 2012, then later to her SoundCloud account on March 6th, 2012, during her "Moriah Poppy" era. It was later removed in late 2014 as part of Poppy reinventing herself and her channel.

Theme

"Doesn't Mean I'm Wrong" is about Moriah experiencing unfortunate events and feeling defenseless. Despite all the misfortune, she still pushes forward.

Lyrics

[Verse 1]
I can barely keep my head above the water
Sometimes I listen to my mother
I spent my last 5 dollars
On gasoline for a ride to your house

[Chorus]
Series of unfortunate events
Prevent the senses from feeling defenseless, oh
I stumble and still I soldier on
'Cause it doesn't have to mean that I'm wrong

[Verse 2]
It's exactly, precisely unexpected
Hit the nail right on the head, now I'm connected
I am so blindly corrected
No one's home, so looks like I missed out

[Chorus]
Series of unfortunate events
Prevent the senses from feeling defenseless, oh
I stumble and still I soldier on
'Cause it doesn't have to mean that I'm wrong
Series of unfortunate events
Prevent the senses from feeling defenseless, oh
I stumble and still I soldier on
'Cause it doesn't have to mean that I'm wrong
