Impresario is the secondary antagonist of Poppy's Inferno.
History[]
Impresario's main history is unknown, but he has been manipulating pop stars into doing his bidding for years, and even keeps a book with pictures of all the celebrities he wishes to blackmail. Lucifer claims the Impresario is “sniveling” which could imply his past and manipulation tactics come from trauma in his own childhood.
Physical Appearance[]
Impresario is a tall, slim man with dark red hair, dark brown eyes (that are sunken in on some occasions) and fair skin. He is frequently seen wearing a white suit or other types of formal outfits.
Personality[]
Impresario is first introduced as a kind, helpful "impresario", though later in the book he shows patterns of being psychologically manipulative and abusive, being rather vain and being willing to harm those he works with in order to become more popular and increase his own self-image. He is described as "the most charming devil alive", and flirts with Poppy on several occasions even while covertly manipulating her. When Poppy discovers Impresario's true intentions and his treatment of the Journalist, he becomes more sinister and aggressive towards her, openly insulting her and threatening physical violence.
Theory[]
Many fans have speculated that Impresario likely represents Poppy's former collaborative and romantic partner, Titanic Sinclair. This theory is supported by their similar appearances and natures of manipulating Poppy.
Trivia[]
- Even though Impresario's name is never revealed, during the confrontation with Compboi198 and his friends, Impresario tells Compboi198 "get out of here, you fucking mutant" to which Compboi198 replies "fuck you Chad!". This could have been Compboi198 talking to one of his friends, but is most likely a reference to Impresario himself. However, it’s possible that this was just an insult rather than his actual name.
