Mackenzie Mire is a character in Poppy's Inferno.
History[]
Mackenzie Mire is a goth-pop singer who works for the same record label that Poppy does. She met Poppy when she was told to do a collab with her, in which Mackenzie didn't particularly want to make the collab. Earlier, Poppy was told to drown Mackenzie during the video shoot, also being told that Mackenzie was fine with it. However, Mackenzie did not actually know of this plan and threatened to call her lawyer after Poppy nearly drowned her (but stopped at the last second), but found out the lawyer was hired by Poppy's sadistic manager who told her to drown Mackenzie. Mackenzie was then threatened to go through with the song and collab despite being angry with Poppy for almost drowning her.
Mackenzie was later seen at Poppy's concert drinking.
Physical Appearance[]
Mackenzie has blonde hair in a side shave which is dyed pale teal, blue-green eyes typically framed by black eyeliner, as well as tattoos. She typically holds herself in a somewhat closed-off manner, with a frown and her arms crossed.
Personality[]
Mackenzie is generally sarcastic, rude, and distant, as well as somewhat bossy. She says the word “sure” a lot and doesn’t seem to like Poppy very much, and is afraid of the Impresario (Poppy’s manager). Mackenzie is also somewhat bratty and may be conceited based on the way she holds herself.
Interestingly, Mackenzie acts similarly to the way Grimes does in the video “Grimes Leave!”: with a closed-off posture, tattoos, and rude attitude towards Poppy despite the latter’s attempts to be nice. Given the real-world controversy between Poppy and Grimes and the controversy between Mackenzie and Poppy in the graphic novel, Mackenzie may be a symbol of Grimes or her persona in the “Grimes Leave” video.
