Negative Spaces is the sixth studio album by Poppy. It was released on November 15th, 2024.

Background[]

In many interviews about Poppy's fifth album, Zig, she hinted that there would be a "part two" of the album, often referred to by fans as Zag. On May 31st, 2024, she posted an image with a caption that contained lyrics for an upcoming song. Three days later on June 3rd, 2024, she announced that the first single, "New Way Out", would be released the next day.

During the premiere of "New Way Out" on BBC Radio 1, she confirmed that Bring Me the Horizon's Jordan Fish produced the entire album.[1]

On September 23rd, 2024, Poppy revealed the album's title, release date and artwork on social media.[2]

The album's full tracklist was announced on October 23rd, 2024 via Poppy's social media.[3]

Audio videos for the songs on YouTube were uploaded days after the album's release, on November 23rd, 2024 onto Sumerian Records' YouTube channel.

Tours[]

On November 9th, 2023, Poppy announced on social media that she would be a supporting act for Thirty Seconds to Mars on their Seasons Tour.[4] Ticket pre-sales began on November 10th, 2023. Although the album was not announced until after the tour was finished, this would be the first tour on which she performed the single "New Way Out".

On October 23rd, 2024, it was announced that Poppy would be going on the Babymetal UK & Europe Arena Tour 2025 in May 2025 alongside Japanese band Babymetal.[5] Ticket presale began the same day, with general sale beginning on October 25th, 2024.

Poppy would later announce the They're All Around Us Tour to promote the album on November 19th, 2024.[6] Ticket presale began the same day, with general sale beginning on November 22nd, 2024. The tour took place in Canada, United States and Poland between March 11th, 2025 and June 2nd, 2025.

Singles[]

"New Way Out" was released to digital retailers through Sumerian Records on June 3rd, 2024, and served as the lead single to the album. Poppy co-wrote the song with Jordan Fish and Stephen Harrison, and it was produced by Fish.

"They're All Around Us" was released to digital retailers through Sumerian Records on September 17th, 2024, and served as the second single to the album. Poppy co-wrote the song with Jordan Fish and Stephen Harrison, and it was produced by Fish.

"The Cost of Giving Up" was released as a double single along with "Crystallized" as the side B, these were released to digital retailers through Sumerian Records on October 15th, 2024, and served as the third and promotional singles to the album respectively. Poppy co-wrote "The Cost of Giving Up" with Jordan Fish and Stephen Harrison, and co-wrote "Crystallized" with Fish. Both songs were produced by Fish.
